Problem: Its exciting to launch a new Web site
(or any product or service), but how do you sustain momentum,
set goals and measure achievement? Too many agencies are great
at providing razzle-dazzle creativity, but not so great at
helping a client keep an eye on the bottom line.
Solution: Strategic planning, year after year after
year. For example, Boscobel's most recent plan for ALX established
metrics for 1) increased Web traffic, 2) increased strategic
partner participation, and 3) increased ALX database holdings.
All three goals were achieved:
- Average monthly hits rose 44.7%.
- Outreach efforts yielded partnerships with SHRM, ASAE,
and NAM
- The number of registered providers increased from 4,500
to more than 6,000, and the posted offerings increased from
200,000 to more than 500,000.
Now we hope to achieve similar success for America's Career
Kit, the DOL umbrella program that includes ALX and three other
employment-related sites. Stay tuned!
