I hope you’re staying cool and hydrated during these hot summer months! For me, it’s been a great time to catch up on reading and industry research, such as the recent Federal Government Contractor Study 2016 published by Market Connections, Inc. This study surveyed 200 federal GovCons nationwide and identified challenges, changes, best practices and more. It’s full of great insight!
Just in case you don’t have a copy, I wanted to share with you a couple key points that grabbed my attention:
- Thought Leadership: The study surveyed the effectiveness of various marketing activities. Seventy-five percent responded with thought leadership (research, white papers, case studies, etc.) as being the most effective. Being established as a GovCon thought leader labels you as a “go-to expert” in the industry and enhances your brand. Keep in mind, another great way to establish thought leadership is by placing articles written by your subject matter experts (SMEs).
- Social Media: Social media marketing is on the rise at 73 percent effectiveness. Social media helps companies support their brand, as well as connect and engage with current and potential customers, organizations and industry professionals. As found in Market Connections’ 2015 Federal Media & Marketing Survey, Facebook was the top social media site, followed by YouTube and LinkedIn.
Establishing thought leadership isn’t easy, and it takes time. If I can help you with your thought leadership needs and social media efforts, please let me know! I’d love to help.
